| Helsingin Energia (2000) Along the way from Helsinki city to Helsinki-Vantaa Airport, about 10 km from the center of Helsinki there is an extraordinary light artwork that has been drawing people's and media's attention since 2000.
The Valoviiri -light artwork is a celebration of Obelux knowhow. It is a computer controlled full color weather proof light system, that can be managed using GSM Short Messages to select preset programs on the control unit. The artwork has full self diagnostic features, and it reports status information to maintenance personnel of Helsingin Energia in the form of GSM Short Messages.
Valoviiri is a custom project for Helsinki, European City of Culture 2000. The installation is carried out for the owner and original designer of the artwork, Helsinki Energy - the Helsinki metropolitan area energy distribution and production company.
