New aviation obstruction light regulation published in Switzerland

25.8.2017
There are several changes made to the new regulations which should get a special attention by the industry. When designing, planning, and/or delivering aviation obstacle light systems in Switzerland, at least the following topics should be noticed and followed:

❖ Infrared (IR) requirement for both low-intensity (“Niederleistung”) and medium-intensity (“Mittelleistung”) obstacle light

❖ Medium-intensity light is specified as 100-300cd with a unique vertical beam requirement

❖ High-intensity light drastically differs from the international guidelines of ICAO

❖ Different lux level threshold values for twilight switching compared to many other countries
